The Gentle 9th of June

June 9, 2010

The gentle rain fell softly mirroring the quiet June morning. In the distance the gulls and terns were working noisily on a small shoal of white bait.

The mackerel head on a long trace worked with the tide seeking out my first bass this year. Counting back this was my 5th trip and I have yet to even register a bite.

The distant traffic noise which was barely noticeable when I first arrived was now growing steadily along with the tide. The weed grew and then faded away, even the crabs never really got into their stride on this small tide.

A couple of conversations with the ever-present dog walkers signaled that it was time to leave.

Maybe trip six.
