April is the cruellest month

April 28, 2012

Do you ever wish you hadn’t said something?  ‘Are we to have a young summer?’ is my latest classic. Since writing that piece we have experienced in the South, 65% more rain than average for April. Coupled with the mostly Easterly winds it hasn’t felt like an early Summer at all.

Having just looked at the BBC Weather Site, it is interesting to see the graph for the average rain fall by month for the last 2 years. Despite this heavy deluge we are still a long way off from making up lost ground – unless of course it continues all Summer!
